Use the Calendar options!
Events posted here should be locked; instead ALL events must have a thread on the main RL site for RSVP and discussion; this forum is meant to get it on the base calendar only and on the base front page if appropriate.
Once the event is over, edit the initial post to include a link to picture album, and post an 'event report' new post in the thread (this post should ALSO include a link to the photo album), and then move the thread to the 'event archive' forum section.
If you cannot do any of the items above, contact a command staff member who can to do them for you.
